Follow this step-by-step tutorial to set up your WhatsApp Business API and start sending bulk messages with Chatber

Create Facebook Developer Account
Set up your Facebook Developer account to access WhatsApp Business API
🎯 Goal: Create a Facebook Developer account and verify your identity to access WhatsApp Business API
  1. Go to Facebook Developers
    Visit https://developers.facebook.com and click "Get Started"
  2. Login with Facebook Account
    Use your existing Facebook account or create a new business Facebook account
  3. Verify Your Account
    Complete phone number verification and provide business details
  4. Accept Terms & Conditions
    Review and accept Facebook Developer Terms and Policies
⚠️ Important: Use a business Facebook account, not a personal one. This account will be linked to your WhatsApp Business API.

Create a New Facebook App
Create an app that will connect to WhatsApp Business API
  1. Click "Create App"
    From Facebook Developer dashboard, click "Create App" button
  2. Select App Type
    Choose "Business" as your app type for WhatsApp integration
  3. Provide App Details
    • App Name: "YourBusiness WhatsApp API" (example)
    • App Contact Email: Your business email
    • Business Account: Select your business account
  4. Create the App
    Click "Create App" and wait for Facebook to set up your app
📝 Note: After creating the app, you'll be redirected to the App Dashboard where you can find your App ID and App Secret.

Add WhatsApp to Your App
Enable WhatsApp Business API for your Facebook app
  1. Go to App Dashboard
    From your Facebook App dashboard, scroll down to "Add Products to Your App"
  2. Find WhatsApp
    Look for "WhatsApp" in the products list and click "Set Up"
  3. Start WhatsApp Setup
    Click "Get Started" on the WhatsApp product page
  4. Create Business Account
    • Create a new WhatsApp Business Account
    • Or select an existing one if you have it

Complete Business Verification
Verify your business to get full access to WhatsApp API
  1. Business Information
    Provide your business name, address, and registration details
  2. Upload Documents
    • Business Registration Certificate
    • GST Certificate (for Indian businesses)
    • Address Proof
    • Identity Proof of Business Owner
  3. Phone Number Verification
    Add and verify your business phone number for WhatsApp
  4. Wait for Approval
    Facebook typically takes 1-3 business days to verify your business
⏰ Important: Business verification is mandatory for production use. Without verification, you can only send messages to 5 numbers.

Collect API Credentials
Get all the necessary credentials to integrate with Chatber
🔑 You'll need these credentials for Chatber:
  1. App ID & App Secret
    Go to App Dashboard → Settings → Basic
    Copy your App ID and App Secret
  2. Business Account ID
    Go to WhatsApp → Getting Started
    Copy your WhatsApp Business Account ID
  3. Phone Number ID
    Go to WhatsApp → Getting Started
    Copy your Phone Number ID
  4. Access Token
    Generate a permanent access token for your app
    Go to WhatsApp → Getting Started → Access Tokens
  5. Webhook Verify Token
    Create a custom verify token (you'll need this for Chatber webhook setup)

Configure Chatber Account
Add your Facebook/WhatsApp credentials to Chatber platform
  1. Login to Chatber
    Go to your Chatber dashboard and navigate to Account Settings
  2. WhatsApp API Configuration
    Click on "WhatsApp API Setup" or "Account Information"
  3. Enter Credentials
    Fill in all the credentials you collected in Step 5:
    • Phone Number ID
    • Business Account ID
    • App ID
    • WhatsApp Access Token
    • Webhook Verify Token
  4. Test Connection
    Click "Test Connection" to verify your setup is working correctly
  5. Save Configuration
    Save your settings and you're ready to send messages!
✅ Success! Once saved, you can start creating templates and sending bulk WhatsApp messages through Chatber.

Send Your First Bulk Message
Test your setup by sending your first WhatsApp campaign
  1. Create a Message Template
    Go to Templates section in Chatber and create your first template
  2. Import Contacts
    Upload your contact list via CSV or add contacts manually
  3. Create Campaign
    • Select your template
    • Choose target contacts
    • Schedule or send immediately
  4. Monitor Results
    Check analytics to see delivery status, open rates, and responses
🚨 Important: Always test with a small group first. Start with 10-20 contacts to ensure everything works properly.
